“Myths and the creation of myths — the things that we remember in history as being real, fascinate me.

I create abstractly, and symbolically, from my visions of these myths.”

— Bernard Pracko

Commentary

“Bernard Pracko has uniquely explored the human psyche through the ages by using historic symbols from the beginning of human existence. He integrates natural phenomena with references to prehistoric, pagan, Christian, Islamic, Judaic, Buddhist and other spiritual practices, which become visions on canvas. There is a significant component to Pracko that goes farther than the quantifiable human experience into mythology and beyond the visible universe. That is why Bernard Pracko is being shown at Kirkland Museum.”

— Hugh Grant, Director and Curator, Kirkland Museum, Denver, 10 May, 2005
